Notes from Japan
Baader–Meinhof effect in action?
A short one this month as I’ve been in Japan and my head is full of inspiration and plans of all the things I want to make. What is in my head (as became clear in my last letter) is dots and lines.
Inspiration is strange. I’m not sure if you start looking for it, or if it starts finding you. Am I conjuring up dots and lines everywhere now? It’s all a bit Baader–Meinhof theory.

The sakura did not disappoint and left its delicate petals everywhere. Echoes of work I was making before I left.

At the Hakone Open-Air Museum I found this Tenugui towel, of course it had to come home with me.
I’m going to take all of these recent experiments from the print studio and make some duos - some abstract, some interior, some drypoint, some mono.
I will let you know when I have a shop update.
If you have any questions about a Japan trip, let me know. We had a short amount of time and went to Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, Hakone and Kyoto. And one of us went diving in Okinawa (not me).
Thanks for reading :)

The lines, the circles, the criss-crossy interactions... 💚
Beautiful renditions!
How thrilling to find so much inspiration in Japan and exciting to see what it all brings to your creativity. So far all the print making looks gorgeous 😍
