I’ve discovered many draft posts that never made it to publication for one reason or other, so here is a bitty review of my very bitty year.
You know what I mean by bitty, or is it one of those very English words that Americans think is adorable, like ‘faff’? What I mean is so many different things going on art-wise and otherwise, and to be honest, I haven’t been very good at finishing things or even staying on track.
I don’t think I’m one of the many adults I know who have been diagnosed with ADHD this year, because I’ve always been pretty organised and on top of things. I just think it’s the overwhelming amount of shiny things to look at - I am distracted so very easily these days - and I like to work on several things at once. Very different things. See evidence below.

I’ve found it useful to break tasks down into tiny little parts like:
Look at this/Open this/Edit this photo/Order some of these/Upload this thing.
One thing at a time and I do get there in the end.
So here’s my very off-the-top-of-my-head review.
(FYI I was just distracted for 15 mins adding to my jazzy Christmas playlist.)
Things I got done:
Joined Good Mood and The Crafted Print
Sold more originals
Licensed more card designs
Things I missed:
Submitting to art shows
Growing my book cover portfolio
Growing my wholesale
Things I’m grateful for:
Being able to visit so many exhibitions this year. Two good ones are still on - Lygia Clark at the Whitechapel and Jeff Wall at the White Cube. I especially loved the smaller galleries this year like Unit, Flowers and 8 Holland Street. And I bought a painting from an artist I’ve been salivating over for a few years. Very, very grateful for that.
Looking forward to:
When Harry Met Sally at the Picturehouse down the road on New Years Eve.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and New Year. You’re welcome :-)
I enjoyed seeing what you've been up to lately, Francesca. There is definitely a common thread through all of your wonderful work. Merry Christmas!
